Betty L. Skidmore, 71 years of Piketon, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, at her residence.

Betty was born on July 20, 1947, in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of the late Harold Lykins and Lora (Brown) Lykins. Betty was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Zion Apostolic Church.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Skidmore, who passed away on Dec. 17, 1995. Betty was also preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, four brothers and a sister.

Betty is survived by three daughters, Robin (Chris) Conn of Peebles, Mary (Dale) Hougland of Peebles, and Rachel (Shannon) Potts, of Piketon. She is also survived by three sons, Darrell Legg of Piketon, John (Tammy) Skidmore of Lucasville, and Orville (Lamanda) Skidmore of Piketon. Betty also leaves behind three brothers, Glendale Lykins of Piketon, Ronnie Lykins of Idaho, and Rick Lykins of Lucasville; as well as four sisters, Donna Royster of Lucasville, Tressa Eaton of Kettering, Cathy Hardy of North Carolina, and Debbie Landon of Lucasville; as well as a special friend, Joe Thomas of Peebles. Betty will be missed by her 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 23, 2018, at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, in Peebles, Ohio. The ceremony will be officiated by Chad Lykins. Burial will follow in the Smith Hill Cemetery.

Family and friends may pay their respects from 9- 11 a.m. on Friday morning prior to the funeral services, at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles.
