Virginia Louise (Ford) Mason, 81 years, of Peebles, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at the Quaker Heights Care Community, in Waynesville, Ohio, surrounded by her loved ones.

Louise was born on August 26, 1936, in Peebles, Ohio, the daughter of Arnold C Ford and C Mabel DeAtley Ford. She was a devoted member of the Peebles Church of Christ, and served as the church’s secretary and custodian for many years. Louise loved spending time with her grandchildren and taking care of her flowers, as well as crafting.

In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Mason, who passed away on November 30, 2006. She was also preceded by a sister-in-law, Betty Ford, and two brothers-in-law, Gene Singer and Robert Ryan.  Louise is survived by her daughter, Mona (Mark) Rhoads, of Wilmington; and by her two sons, Kent Self, of Peebles; and Rick (Pauletta) Nixon, of Cincinnati. Louise also leaves behind two sisters, Violet Ryan and Anna Jane Singer, both of Peebles; and a brother, James Ford, also of Peebles. She will be sadly missed by her seven grandchildren, Jeanine Nixon (William Shackleford), of Lexington, Kentucky; Joshua Nixon, of Cincinnati; Kristin (Tyler) Wittenmyer, of Stuebenville; Kyle Rhoads, of Wilmington; Mariah Rhoads, of Kings Mills; Kayla Self, of Peebles; and Isabella Self, of Dayton. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, as well as her many dear friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, on Monday, July 23, 2018, at the Peebles Church of Christ. The ceremony will be officiated by Mikey Sweeney. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery.

Family and friends may pay their respects Sunday afternoon, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, July 22, 2018, at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, in Peebles.
