The West Union Alumni & Friends Educational Fund is pleased to announce its 2018 scholarship award recipients. Alaina Harover and Dakota Nehus, two graduating West Union High School seniors, were awarded multi-year scholarships.
Alaina Harover is a 2018 scholarship recipient from the West Union Alumni & Friends Educational Fund. Ms. Harover plans to attend The Ohio State University to study speech therapy.
Dakota Nehus is the second 2018 scholarship recipient from the West Union Alumni & Friends Educational Fund. Mr. Nehus plans to attend Morehead State University in Kentucky to study civil engineering with an emphasis on construction management.
Each student will receive a $2,000 scholarship, $1,000 for the 2018-2019 school year, and another $1,000 for the Each2019-2020 school year.
The West Union Schools Alumni & Friends Educational Fund is a school endowment fund at the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO). Created in 2008, the Fund supports programs and projects that enhance the educational experiences of students in the Adams County Ohio Valley Local School District. The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio creates opportunities for Appalachian Ohio’s citizens and communities by inspiring and supporting philanthropy.
Gifts to the West Union Alumni & Friends Educational Fund are tax deductible and can be made in a number of ways, including cash, gifts in wills, and life insurance. To make your donation, please designate the West Union Alumni & Friends Educational Fund and mail to PO Box 444, West Union, Ohio 45693.
