Roy Gabbert last week formally announced his candidacy for Adams County Court Judge. Gabbert has over 28 years of experience as an attorney and has been Adams County Court’s Acting Judge for more than 20 years, appointed first by Judge Duce Wilson and serving subsequently with Judge Alan Foster.
“I am excited for this opportunity. My experience has prepared me for the position of Adams County Court Judge,” Gabbert said. “But more importantly, my basic principles will guide me to follow the law fairly and impartially. Common sense and hard work will be my compass.”
Gabbert earned both his Bachelor’s Degree (summa cum laude) and his Juris Doctorate (With Honors) from the Ohio State University. After law school, he joined his late father (Roy E. Gabbert, Sr.) in the family legal business. Gabbert Law Office last year celebrated the 65th Anniversary of serving the Adams County community.
He has also served over eight years as a Member of the Adams County Board of Elections, including a term as that Board’s Chairman. Gabbert has been generous with both his time and his resources encouraging the youth of Adams County; and , he sings a happy noise each week in the choir at the Seaman Church of Christ.
Roy Gabbert was born and raised in West Union where he and his wife Amy are raising their daughter Lucy.
