Joyce M Thomas Stang, 80 years, of Fort Thomas, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at the St. Elizabeth Hospital, in Fort Thomas, Kentucky.
Joyce was born in Locust Grove, Ohio, on October 26, 1937, the daughter of the late Samual A “Dutch” and Audrey V (Purtee) Thomas. Joyce worked as an administrator for the IBM Corporation for over 20 years. She attended the Highland United Methodist Church in Fort Thomas. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Peebles Chapter #396. Above all, Joyce’s primary goal in life was to care for and keep her family close.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by a brother, Frank S Thomas, and a sister, Barbara Ann Raisbeck. She is survived by her husband, Andrew Stang, whom she married on May 1, 1982. Joyce is also survived by her son, Darrell (Andrea) Mitchell; and her daughter, Jackie Mitchell, both of Fort Thomas, Kentucky. She leaves behind two sisters, Judy Meader, of Loveland, Ohio; and Sue (Dan) Fristoe, of Peebles. Joyce will be sorely missed by her seven grandchildren, Devinn, Atley, Mitchell, Taylor, Tylo, Jessica, and Jacob; and by her three great-grandchildren, Everleigh, Remington, and Case.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, in Peebles. The ceremony will be officiated by Phil Fulton. Burial will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery, in Peebles, Ohio.
Family and friends may pay their respects prior to the funeral services, from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM, Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles.
