The third time was a charm and Adams County has its first-ever OHSAA state champion.  After finishing second as a freshman and third as a sophomore, Peebles junior Jenny Seas reached the top of the mountain on Saturday morning in the OHSAA State Track Meet.

Competing in the grueling 3200 Meter Run, Seas turned in a time of 11:04.93, nearly nine second better than the race’s runner-up, turning it up in the second half of the race to capture the state championship, the first to come back to Adams County in any sport.

Her brother Matt, in the final race of his high school career, also earned a spot on the post-race podium in the Boys 3200 Meter Run, placing fifth overall.
