Nine-run inning leads Lady Hounds to run rule win over West Union

Manchester’s Taylor Morrison drove home three runs to held lead the Lady Hounds to a 14-3 win over West Union on April 3.

The Manchester Lady Greyhounds evened their Southern Hills Athletic Conference record at 1-1 on Monday, April 3 with a 14-3 run-rule win over visiting county rival West Union.
The Lady Hounds trailed 3-0 when they came to hit in the bottom of the second as West Union got a two-run double from Savannah Holbrook in the top half and narrowed that gap with two runs.
In the bottom of the third, Manchester took the lead for good in their portion of third with Taylor Morrison clearing the bases to make it 5-3 for the home team.
The game became out of reach for the visiting Lady Dragons when Manchester exploded for nine runs in the bottom of the fourth, getting RBI’s from Karley Young, McKenzie Bell, Jennifer Scott, and Katie Sandlin to take a commanding 14-3 lead.
When the Lady Dragons were retired in the top of the fifth, the game was called.
On the mound, Madison Jones got the win for Manchester.
The Lady Hounds them improved to 4-2 on the year with a Tuesday comeback win over Ripley.
