A cold, blustery March morning greeted 71 runners and walkers who braved the elements to be part of the second annual Shamrock Shuffle 5K Run/Walk, an event that benefits the track and cross-country programs at North Adams High School.
The day was organized by NAHS Track Coach Kelly Boerger, who was very grateful for those who braved the cold to be part of the race.  “I really want to thank all of the runners and walkers, plus the local businesses who helped to make this fund raiser a success,” said Boerger.
The top walkers on the day were Sam Hilderbrand and Trina Stapleton and the overall race winners were Chad Sexton and Loralei Young.
The top two runner sin each age group were as follows: Female: 10 and Under-Katelynn Boerger, Tatum Grooms; 11-15-Hunter Grooms, Alyssa Mays; 16-19-Adison Wright, Sydney Kendall; 20-19-Laura Welfley, Emily Grooms; 30-39-Molly Grooms, Amy Copas; 50-59-Tracy Ortman; and 60 and above-Debbie Putnam.
Male: 10 and Under- Beau Hesler, Samuel Gravel; 11-15- Cy Young, John McIlwain; 16-19- Isaac Newman; 30-39-Adam Tolle, Tony Brammer, 40-49- Nate Hauke, Joseph Wright, and 60 and above- Tom Putnam, Doug McClennan.
