Barbara Jean Finnegan, 64 years, of Peebles, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at the Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Center, in Seaman, Ohio.

Barbara was born in Newburgh, New York, on November 9, 1952, the daughter of Francis Finnegan, Jr., and America Mascioli Finnegan. She graduated from high school in New York and attended Akron University.  After graduating from college, Barbara worked as the controller for the Montgomery Inn Restaurant, in Cincinnati, for a number of years. She later became the fiscal officer for the Adams County Library. Barbara was an active member of the Adams County Democrat Club, formerly serving as a member of the executive committee, as the Bratton Township committee person, and currently serving as the treasurer of the club.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Francis Finnegan. She is survived by her sister Kathy Finnegan, of Peebles. She will be missed by her co-workers, as well as her dearest friends.

According to Barbara’s wishes, she is to be cremated. A memorial service for friends and family is being planned for a later date.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to any animal welfare organization, any earth protection program, or to National Public Radio.
