Another senior athlete from West Union High School has made the decision to continue their athletic career at the next level.  Senior Rebekah McCarty will continue her cross-country career for the Ohio Christian University Trailblazers in Circleville, making it official in a signing ceremony held at the college earlier this month.
“I visited a lot of colleges but I really liked Ohio Christian,” said McCarty.  “It was very family-oriented and just a really nice college.  My friend Madigan (Marshall) is a student there and she told the coach about me and then he got in contact with me.”
“Rebekah will add great depth to our Cross Country team, as well as our hurdle crew,” said OCU head Coach Eric Hamner. “I am very excited for the future at OCU.”
McCarty has been involved in numerous activities while a student at WUHS and while at Ohio Christian plans to major in Early Childhood Education.
Ohio Christian is an NAIA program, part of the National Christian College Athletic Association.
