Carol L. Lewis, 77 years of Peebles, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017, at the Monarch Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Home, in Seaman.
Carol was born in Lawshe on Oct. 11, 1939, the daughter of the late Charles H. Flagge and Laura M. Copas. She attended the Countryside Church of Christ and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Lion’s Club. Carol worked for Keebler’s.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Shotgun” Lewis; a son, John Sarbell; one brother, Charles “Bud” Flagge; and one sister, Shirley Flagge. Carol is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Pam Sarbell, of Lawshe; and two grandchildren, Skye Sarbell of Peebles, and Nikki Potts of Seaman. Carol also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Pat Flagge of Peebles.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home with Hannum Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery in Peebles.
Friends and family may pay their respects at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home.
