Evelyn L. Jones, 82 years of Peebles, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016, at her residence.
She was born in Springfield, Ohio, on Oct. 19, 1934, the daughter of the late Everett Hopkins and Virginia Stringfellow.
Betty is survived by one son, James (Michelle) Jones, of Peebles; one daughter, Judy (Gary) Chamblin of Peebles; six sisters, Anna Mae (Charles) Bowles, Dorothy Golh, Mary (Jim) Shope, Janice (Joe) Staggs, Elma Straley, and Ginny (Virgil) Ferguson; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016 at the Wallace- Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery.
