Ruth Prater age 94 years of West Union, passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016 at the Adams County Manor. Mrs. Prater was born on March 20, 1922, the daughter of the late Eilisha and Anne (Houstown) Garr in Fleming County, Ky. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Prater.
Survivors include two sons Barry Prater and wife Elaine of Winchester, Ohio and Jimmy Prater of Leesburg; two daughters, Deanna June Shoffstall of Wapakoneta and Candee Culp of West Union; 20 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home in West Union with Clarence Abbott officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Kentucky. Visitation will be held the day of the service from noon to 1 p.m. Memorials can be made to the Hospice of Hope.
