Saturday, June 11 saw a group of dedicated performers come to Manchester High School to showcase their talents in a benefit concert for the Manchester Police Department. The department has been operating on a shoestring budget in recent months and all the proceeds from Saturday night’s event went to the MPD.

Though many were disappointed by the turnout for the show, Manchester police chief Jeff Bowling was still happy to have any help for his department.

“I wish we could have seen more people,” said Bowling, but I’m still happy with those who are here and the proceeds we get tonight will help our department with projects such as updating some of our outdated equipment.”

J.M. Tolle, Randy Pollard, Jason Cooper, Paul Hughes and others entertained the crowd with a combination of gospel, country, and bluegrass tunes in what was billed “Support the Blue Opry Style.”

If you could not attend the show and would still like to contribute to the Manchester Police Department, contributions can be mailed to 400 Pike Street, Manchester, Ohio 45144 or by contacting Chief Bowling at (937) 549-3330.
