A Peebles man was injured in a single vehicle accident on Wednesday, Nov. 18.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was called to the scene on of an early morning accident on St. Rt. 73 just west of Dutch Thomas Road near Locust Grove.

Trooper Donnie Edgington responded to the call at approximately 8:45 a.m. According to Trooper Edgington, the driver Ethan Cadwallader, 20, of Peebles, was traveling eastbound on St. Rt. 73 in a 2006 Hyundai when he lost control of his automobile.

He crossed the center line into the westbound lane, then leaving the road, crashed into a tree. Sources revealed that Cadwallader had fallen asleep at the wheel.

First responders from the Franklin Township Fire Department rescued Cadwallader from the vehicle. He was treated by the Peebles Life Squad before being air-lifted to the UC Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.

Cadwallader was charged with Failure to Control.
