West Union High School recently began a series of “Guest Career Talks” with their junior high students. Speakers born and raised from Adams County are coming to WUHS on a monthly basis to talk to the junior high students about life outside of high school.
Ms. Nuber, Junior High Language Arts teacher, thinks the talks are beneficial because they “provide students with the confidence that they need to succeed in their future.”
The guest speakers from Adams County have had many individual achievements in the career field. Some guests have also attended a four year college or joined the armed forces.
The first guest speaker was Paul Worley, army veteran and Adams County Commissioner. The second speaker was Eddie Butcher, technology coordinator for the Adams County/Ohio Valley School District and the third speaker in the series was Kimmy Rogers, Adams County Sheriff.
Mr. Ben King, WUHS Principal, will continue to invite speakers to the school to inspire our students to become better in their lives, and this program will continue throughout the school year.
