Beech joins Defender staff

The People’s Defender is proud to announce the hiring of Patricia Beech as their new editorial reporter. Patricia is a life-long resident of Adams County and a graduate of Peebles High School.

After receiving her B.A. in English Literature and Journalism from Wilmington College she began working as a substitute teacher in the Ohio Valley School District. She has also worked as an English Composition Instructor at Southern State Community College and served as the editor and reporter for the Peebles Messenger Independent.

“I am very excited to become part of the Defender staff,” said Beech. “I’m looking forward to meeting and serving the people in all of our Adams County communities.”

“Pat’s local roots and previous experience with newspapers and journalism will be a definite asset to our newspaper,” said Mark Carpenter, editor of The People’s Defender. “We are looking forward to her fine work as she is excited and ready to hit the ground running.”

Patricia lives in the Peebles area with her husband Mike. They enjoy spending time with their combined families, six children and 16 grandchildren. their dog Millie, and their two cats.
