Aberdeen will hold a July 4 Celebration in the Park on the green space on the river.

Events begin 10 a.m. with Baby Show sign up. The Baby Show begins 11 a.m.; followed by talent show registration 1-4:45 p.m.

Children’s games will be held 1-4:45 p.m. There will be a water balloon toss, egg relay, cracker eating contest, hula hoop contest, turtle race (bring your own turtle) and frog jumping (bring your own frog).

Other events include the decorated bicycle contest 4 p.m. (judged in the park); best decorated cupcake 4:30 p.m. (single cupcake), ugliest and prettiest hat contest 4:30 p.m., Ugly truck contest 4:30 p.m., husband call contest 4:30 p.m., best Fourth of July costume 4:30 p.m., talent show 5 p.m. Cruise in 6 p.m., music by “Just for Fun” sponsored by Big Boy Toys. Fireworks will follow at dusk.

Bring a lawn chair and blankets to watch the fireworks. Veterans Memorial Parkway will be closed to traffic. The boat dock will be open.
