SR 125 bridge construction nears completion

The bridge on state Route 125 near Randall’s Run Road is expected to soon be open to traffic. The Ohio Department of Transportation said that they are planning to have the bridge open on Friday, Sept. 5.“They’re pouring the deck now,” Kathleen Fuller, Pyblic Information Officer for ODOT District 9 said. “Certain things have to be finished before the bridge can be opened to traffic. The deck, obviously, has to be done, but the guard rails have to be completed too.”ODOT expects to open the bridge once the deck and guard rails are complete. The stripping of the road and sealing and painting of the steel beams in the bridge can be worked on while the bridge is open to traffic.

Drug bust leads to high speed chase

The Winchester Police Department wrapped up a drug investigation in an unusual manner on Tuesday, August 18. Two individuals were arrested for trafficking in crack cocaine after a high speed chase down county roads.Winchester Police established a sting operation, attempting to purchase one ounce of crack cocaine. Dragons take back County Cup

After one year nestled in the trophy case at North Adams High School, the Adams County Cup has made its way back to West Union High School. The cup, the trophy given each year to the team that wins the county boys golf tournament, is going back to West Union after the Dragons rolled to a 34-stroke victory in the 2014 tourney, held at Hilltop Golf Course on Aug. 13.
