On the final night of racing before a big summer swing of events at Brushcreek Motorsports Complex, the fans were treated to spectacular racing and an upset win in the Burnout Competition. Race fans were given the task of picking one of the four burnout contestants and in a narrow upset, Zach Grooms won in his Ford Mustang. Zach picked up two free tickets to a race for winning the competition. The racing action was as hot as the burnt tires as the sun set on a wild night.

Another Legend Car featured a wreck in the heat race as John Gutman’s number 2 car tumbled over the back stretch. Gutman was out shortly after the car stopped and was fine, finding a ride to wheel in the feature event.

The Crazy Compacts hit the track first with Stacy Evans driving to an easy win. With Kevin Howell and Tommy Stout, Jr. following him across the line. Jay Dunaway picked up the Mini-Sprint feature win after the conclusion of the Crazy Compacts.

The Hidden Gem Web Designs Sport Mods hit the track soon after victory lane celebrations for the Mini-Sprints. Tyler Smith and Danny Hamilton brought the field to the green. Hamilton had much more experience at BMC than Smith winning nearly every race in 2013. Smith proved to be a fit challenger as he jumped out early. Smith led Hamilton by a solid margin the entire race. Coming to the checkered flag, Smith’s engine exploded but he had a large enough lead to just coast home. Tyler Smith won for the second weekend in a row with Danny Hamilton, Derek Richmond, Harrison Hall and David Lunsford rounding out the top five.

Modified rolled out next and once again it looked like Dave Jamison in the D4 car would walk away with the win. However as the laps rolled down in the 20 lap feature event, lap traffic proved to be an issue for Jamison. The lap cars of Dakota Mayabb and Jason Bilyeu were racing hard for position making it tough for Jamison to pass. Aaron Pendleton was charging hard to take over the lead spot. Jamison just managed to work around the lap cars coming to the the last laps and edged Pendleton for the win. Following Jamison and Pendleton in the top five were Adam Stricker, Tyler Allison and Jason Bilyeu.

The Ohio Valley Roofers Legend Car Series were the final cars on the track on Saturday night. Jerren Perdue was dominant as always but several drivers tried to take him off the top spot. His toughest competitor was Josh Francis in the number 2 machine. Francis just couldn’t make it work and Perdue picked up yet another win followed by Josh Francis, Thomas Partin, Derek Minshew and Steve Duderstadt.

While Brushcreek Motorsports Complex is off next weekend, the Ohio Valley Roofers Legend Car Series will head to the Portsmouth Raceway Park on Saturday June 28. Be there as the boys take on the big track at PRP.

The next time the Brushcreek Motorsports Complex will see racing action is Thursday July 3 with the famous Dueling Fireworks Show. Racing will be Feature events only but there is lots in store for the night leading up to the fireworks. Throughout the day there will be the First Annual 3rd of July Swap Meet and Yard Sale just outside the gates.

Starting at 7 p.m. the Parking Lot Party will begin with a DJ out in the parking lot playing music for the tailgating crowd. There will also be entertainers from the Cincinnati Circus Company and 2013 Championship Award presentations. All this leading up to one of the biggest fireworks shows around. You can’t miss one of the most anticipated shows of the year.
