Two members of the local Kicks For Jesus Taekwondo group recently competed in the AAU National Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. from June 29-July 4 and performed quite well.

Coached by their father Todd Cumberledge, Nathan and Ben Cumberledge both came home from the Sunshine State with new medals for their collection. Nathan received a Gold in Forms and a Bronze in Sparring while brother Ben received Bronze in both Forms and Sparring. Both had qualified for Nationals with their performances at the AAU Kentucky State Taekwondo Championships in May of this year.

“As their head instructor it has been a pleasure to watch Nathan and Ben grow as martial artists and as people over the last two and a half years,” said David Grover, director of the Kicks For Jesus program.

“I couldn’t be more proud of them. Their dedication, enthusiasm, and determination led to these accomplishments. Their success reflects great credit upon themselves, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and the entire Kicks For Jesus organization.”
