Back for its 15th season, the Junior Golf League at the Adams County Country Club began play on June 5, with young golfers from the ages of 7-17 participating in the summer league, organized and directed by West Union High School head golf coach Carl Schneider.

The league goes on for eight weeks (every Thursday), with the format moving from basic fundamental instruction to the golfers actually playing the course.

“We will also have a Fourth of July Tournament, a Family Tournament, and an end of the year championship tournament,” said Schneider on the league’s first day of action in 2014.

The golfers are divided into groups depending on their experience level and Schneider is ably assisted by former and current West Union golf team members.

“Our numbers will go up the next couple of weeks when all of the camps going on in other sports finish up,” added Schneider.
