While the county was buzzing last week over the magical tournament run of the high school boys varsity from Peebles, there was another sporting event going on that may have created just as much excitement and enthusiasm, just on a smaller scale. This sporting event got the whole family involved- grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many more, and it played to packed houses just like the varsity counterparts.
The Adams Brown Youth Basketball League’s 2014 season came to a close last week with the culmination being post-season tournaments being held in gymnasiums all over Adams County. Aspiring basketball stars from third through sixth grade brought their unique set of talents to the court and entertained their enthusiastic fans.
Tournament games were held the week of March 10-14 in Peebles, North Adams, Manchester, and West Union, with the monumental task of organizing all of those sites and securing officials falling into the very capable hands again of Mr. Tony Staggs (with assistance at each site) and once again, the tourneys went off without a hitch.
