The Adams County Fair is in full swing, and the library is enjoying meeting everyone who stops by our booth in the Merchants Hall this week. Kids are invited to stop by the booth from 1 – 5 p.m. through Friday for fun activities and games. We’ll offer a different activity each day, including face painting, balloons, and more. Stop by to learn more about library services, outreach delivery, and how you can access a wealth of books, movies, and online information with your free library card.
The Adams County Public Library launched a new website, adamscolibrary.org, on July 1. The website offers information about library locations, hours, and services, and links to our online catalog and ebook catalog. Browse our new public website to learn about library resources, watch the New Books section for the latest titles, see upcoming library events, or contact the library. Our Online Catalog continues to be available to search for items and manage your library account. The Summer Reading is wrapping up this week with a final event at the West Union Public Library. Summer Readers are invited to a Picnic and Prize Drawing 3 p.m. Thursday, July 24, on the lawn behind the West Union Library. At the Peebles Library, Story Time for preschool through sixth grade will be held 11 a.m. July 23 and July 30. Teens in grades seven – 12 are invited to select a book to read, then come to the Peebles Library 2 p.m. Tuesdays to discuss their favorite reads, now through July 29.
Phillip Rhonemus was appointed to the Adams County Public Library Board of Trustees on July 1, with a term of service through 2017. The Adams County Public Library and Board welcome Phil to the Board, and thank him for his commitment to serving the community.
