The Winchester Village Council held its June meeting on June 17 with the following present: Council members, Rob Davis, Marcia Pizzuto, Sherry Young, Wayne Edingfield and Kenny Roades. Also the following were present: Chief David Benjamin.


Mayor Foster led with The Pledge of allegiance and Lord’s Prayer to start the meeting.


Barry Lung was excused from the meeting.


Motion by Wayne Edingfield to approve the Treasurer’s Report and payment of bills. Seconded by Sherry Young. All in favor. Motion carried.


Council reviewed and approved minutes.


Council reviewed the Mayors Court report.


Motion by Kenny Roades to hire Richard Shoftstall as a full-time police officer, at the same hours and wage that he is currently at and that he be promoted to Lieutenant. Seconded by Wayne Edingfield. All in favor. Motion carried.


Chief Benjamin advised Council that there will be a “National Night Out” on August 6, 2014. The Fire Department, Life Squad and Police Department will all be involved.


Motion by Sherry Young to enter into a contract with Aspen Energy Corp. Seconded by Wayne Edingfield. All in favor. Motion carried.


Motion by Wayne Edingfield to classify October 15, 2014 – October 19, 2014 as Power Team Week. Seconded by Rob Davis. All in favor. Motion carried.


Discussion of park design.


Motion by Wayne Edingfield to adjourn.
