MANCHESTER – A local man is facing a felony breaking and entering charge after a resident of an apartment complex saw the man trying to gain access to a garage.

Manchester Police and an Adams County Sheriff Deputy arrived on scene and took the suspect, Darrin Lambly, 50, of Manchester, into custody as he was standing in the doorway of the reported location.

According to the police report, Lambly was highly intoxicated and once inside the garage officers found a freshly opened can of Milwaukee’s Best and a partially smoked Marlboro Light 100. These items were identical to the beer and cigarettes found near Lambly when officers arrested him.

A nearby resident, Donald Gifford, told police he heard a loud noise coming from the rear of the alley and when he checked it out saw a man breaking into the garage. Gifford notified the woman whose garage this was and called police.

Police took Lambly into questioning where he admitted to being in the building where the breaking and entering occurred. Lambly stated multiple times that he slipped and fell into the garage. When police asked him how he could slip and fall into a garage with the door closed, latched and secured with a pad lock, Lambly did not respond.
