Kinfolk Landing Days is no more in Manchester. but replaced this year with River Days on Aug. 2. Part of the festivities on the river will be a 5K Run/2 Mile Walk, given the title “This Run’s For Sam” in honor of Samantha Boling and her courageous fight against Cystic Fibrosis. Samantha is a former Manchester student and athlete who is currently awaiting a lung transplant.

Race day registration will begin on Front and Pike Streets at 7:30 a.m. with the race beginning one hour later. There is a $20 registration fee which will include a race t-shirt and all the proceeds will go to the Boling family as they continue their journey to get a life-saving lung transplant for Samantha.

There will be awards for the top overall male and female runners as well as medals for the top two runners/walkers in each category. Those categories for runners are 14 and under, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, and 60 and over. For walkers the categories are Under 40 and 40 and over.

Registration forms are also available at the Fifth Third Banks in Manchester and West Union, First State Bank in Manchester, Ayers Dairy Bar in Manchester, and S & G in Manchester.
