Youth returning to high school for the 2014 – 2015 school year had their last day of employment Friday, August 8, 2014. The summer ended with an Enrichment Retreat at Logan’s Gap in Ripley, Ohio where youth enjoyed lunch, games and a guest speaker.

Through the TANF Summer Youth Employment Program residents of Adams and Brown counties who are between the ages of 16 and 24 years of age may qualify for a work experience that will help them earn a paycheck, gain useful knowledge about being employed and get useful training. The program usually runs from June through the first week in August for youth returning to school. Youth 18 to 24 who are not returning to high school are sometimes able to work through October.

The TANF Youth Specialists, Caylah Baldwin, Pam Chandler, and Tina Wright, along with Angela Sutter, WIA/TANF Youth Specialist would like to thank all of the youth who participated for an exciting summer. We would also like to thank all of the local businesses throughout Adams and Brown counties for allowing youth to be a part of your staff, “Without the participating businesses there would be no TANF Summer Youth Employment Program.”
