The Board of Adams County Commissioners met in regular session on March 10, 2014, with the following members present: Brian Baldridge, Stephen Caraway, and Paul Worley. The meeting was opened with prayer and the pledge of allegiance led by Diane Ward.

It was moved by Brian Baldridge and seconded by Paul Worley to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Vote: All yeas.

It was moved by Paul Worley and seconded by Brian Baldridge to approve the bills. Vote: All yeas.

It was moved by Brian Baldridge and seconded by Paul Worley to approve the transfers. Vote: All yeas.

It was moved by Paul Worley and seconded by Brian Baldridge to recess at 9 a.m. in order for the board to attend an Adams-Clermont Solid Waste meeting in Batavia. Vote: All yeas.

It was moved by Paul Worley and seconded by Stephen Caraway to reconvene at 2:20 p.m. Vote: All yeas.

It was moved by Stephen Caraway and seconded by Paul Worley to discontinue the Clemans Nelson and Associates retainer agreement for provision of professional services in regards to union contracts. Vote: All yeas.

It was moved by Brian Baldridge and seconded by Paul Worley to proclaim March as Developmental Disabilities month in Adams County. Vote: All yeas. Those present for the proclamation were as follows: Superintendent A.C.D.D. Scott Amen, Venture Productions Director Liz Lafferty, Darell Grooms, Andrea Spornhauer, John Johnson, and Mark Carpenter of the Peoples Defender.

The board signed a letter of support to Dr. Kevin Boys for additional support for the Capital-Small College Pool for Southern State Community College.

It was moved by Paul Worley and seconded by Brian Baldridge to approve the agreement amendment with Woolpert. Vote: All yeas.

Adams County Senior Citizens Council Director Melody Stapleton, Council President Bobbie Kitchen, Assistant Director Mary Stout, and board members Wilma J. Dailey and Beverly Mathias met with the board to discuss the Adams County Senior Citizens tax levy.

Prosecutor David Kelley and Diana Young met with the board to discuss contract funding and budgetary.

It was moved by Brian Baldridge and seconded by Paul Worley to approve the 2014 local grant for the Adams County Local Soil and Water in the amount of $85,000. Vote: All yeas.

ECD Director Holly Johnson met with the board to discuss Healthy Communities Health U.C. funding, grants, and Adams County Day in Columbus.

It was moved by Stephen Caraway and seconded by Brian Baldridge to adjourn. Vote: All yeas.

All members of the Adams County Board of Commissioners met on March 14, 2014 to conduct a work session. The board met with the following individuals: Richard Howerton of Howerton Engineering & Surveying, Sheriff Kimmy Rogers, and ECD Director Holly Johnson
