This last week, Lone Star PR in Nashville, Tenn. brought on its newest addition to the publicity team, Carrie Chalker. An Adams County, resident, Chalker is a recent December 2013 graduate of Nashville’s Belmont University with a Bachelor of Science degree in public relations and minor in music business. Chalker is also a graduate of the 2011 class from Peebles High School and received her Associate of Arts degree from Southern State Community College in 2011 through the college credit plus (post-secondary education) program. Her role with the Lone Star PR team as assistant publicist includes tasks in artist brand development, media relations, social media management and publicity campaigns and pushes.
While studying at Belmont University, she was involved in both the school’s PRSSA chapter and student public relations firm. She interned/worked with a variety of companies in both public relations and the music industry, including: Intero Alliance LLC, the Inspirational Country Music Association, PLA Media and Lone Star PR. Additionally, she is a part of the social media team for OurVinyl.TV and a part-time tour guide for the historical Belmont Mansion.
Her parents are Jim and Peggy Chalker, and her grandparents are Jack and Pat O’Hara and Elizabeth Chalker.
