One of the main tasks of a representative in the government, whether it be at the national, state, or local levels, is keeping in touch with the needs and concerns of the constituents in his/her home district. The office of 2nd District Representative Brad Wenstrup put that theory into practice on Thursday afternoon as Field Representative Kaci Compton held open office hours in the conference room of the Courthouse Annex.
“I am here today to just listen to the concerns of any citizens who might stop by to talk,” said Compton. “It’s a chance for me to convey to Representative Wenstrup the thoughts of the people in his district.”
Compton is also planning out a strategy for Representative Wenstrup to be more involved in the district’s school system, working with guidance counselors and other school officials to make them aware of programs that are available to them from the representative’s office.
