information for Aug. 2 election August 2 is election day for voters in the 2nd U.S. Congressional District of Ohio, and precincts will be open 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The district is comprised of the counties of Adams, Brown, Scioto, Pike, Clermont and portions of Hamilton and Warren.
Voters will decide between Democrat Paul Hackett of Cincinnati, Republican Jean Schmidt of Loveland and write-in candidates James J. Condit, Jr. of Cincinnati, and James E. Constable, Jr. of Milford, to fill the seat vacated by U.S. Trade Representative Rob Portman.
