McGovney retires from Blake Pharmacy

On August 5 at noon, Hugh McGovney, 66, filled the last prescription of his long career, retiring from Blake Pharmacy after 50 years.McGovney started working at Blake Pharmacy as a soda jerk and a clerk at the age of 16. When he was old enough, he attended the pharmacology school at the University of Cincinnati. Once he had finished school, he continued working at Blake Pharmacy as a pharmacist.“I plan to take it easy and go to the gym regularly,” McGoveney said, when asked what his plans for retirement are.


Countryside Church of Christ celebrates 200 years
