4-Her restores community flagpole

Jace White of the Stirrin Up Dust 4-H Club recently submitted and was awarded a $150 grant proposal through the Ohio 4-H Foundation. ‘Operation Restore Our Flag’ became a reality.White was looking for a different non-livestock 4-H project for the 2014 year. His advisor, Kim Baker steered him toward the ‘My hands to Larger Service’ project. This was a new project in the 2014 4-H curriculum.

Brown County Public Library hosts big foot event

The Tri-State Bigfoot Group Investigative Team will be at the Gaslight Theater in Georgetown, 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, to present “Bigfoot in Brown County.” This is a free event hosted by the Brown County Public Library and open to the public for all ages. Come with your questions and possible sighting for the team. Free popcorn and a children’s craft will be provided.

Ohio Valley RC&D Office moves

The Ohio Valley RC&D has moved to a new location due to the closure of the south campus of Southern State Community College in Fincastle. Ohio Valley RC&D is now located 338 West Main Street, in Hillsboro, and the new phone number is (937) 402-3033.
