Jeannine O Evans

Jeannine Opal Evans, beloved mother, wife, and friend, went home to be with the Lord on June 24 2017 at Eagle Creek Nursing Center in West Union, aged 81 years.  She will be greatly missed.

Jeannine was born April 10 1936, the only child of Opal (Scott) Gillespie and Fred Gillespie.

Mrs. Evans was a dedicated mother and homemaker.  Starting in 1968, she also worked as a secretary for the Manchester and Ohio Valley Local schools.  She was known to many classes of Manchester students as the “Lunchroom Lady”.

She retired in late 1994 to care for her ailing husband, Alva C. M. Evans, who passed away in February 1995.  They were married almost 39 years.  Other close relatives preceding her in death include her mother Opal O’Cull and stepfather Frank O’Cull.

She is survived by her two sons, Troy and Timothy, one daughter-in-law, Sherry (Clark) Evans, two grandchildren, Jordan and Jessica Evans, and many friends and acquaintances.

Visitation will be held at Wilson Home for Funerals in Manchester on Wednesday June 28 2017 from 11am to 2pm.  Funeral services will be held there immediately after, starting at 2pm, with Pastors Owen Applegate and Frank Doenges officiating.  Burial will follow at Manchester Cemetery.

Friends and family may sign an online guestbook at www.wilsonhomeforfunerals.com
