Brice Weyrich, valedictorian of the March 2017 graduating class at the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics, addresses the graduating class and staff during the graduation ceremony.

Brice J. Weyrich, a 2004 graduate of Peebles High School, graduated on March 29 with honors from the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics in West Mifflin, Pa.
During the ceremony, Weyrich was inducted into Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Society and served as valedictorian of the March 2017 graduating class. Through his course of study, Weyrich earned an associate degree in specialized technology through the PIA Aviation Electronics Technology Program.
.A U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, Weyrich is son of Phil and Carleta Weyrich of Highland County, and resides in Pittsburgh with wife, Loren, and family.
PIA has trained students in airplane maintenance and repair since 1929, when the institute was created out of an airplane service and pilot training company founded by Glenn Curtiss and Orville Wright. The Institute later was purchased by William J. Graham of the Graham Aviation Company and reorganized as a non-profit organization. The aviation electronics program was added in the 1980s.
