Elementary students perform ‘Beauty and the Beast Jr.’ to capacity crowd –

It is currently the number one box office attraction at movie theatres in America  and on Friday, March 24, the classic Disney fairy tale set in France came to the stage at Peebles Elementary School.  A cast of over 40 students brought “Beauty and the Beast, Jr.” to the stage before a capacity crowd in the PES cafetorium.
The cast members included: Belle- Sarah Gabel, Beast- Michael Hudgel, Gaston- Mason Sims, Lefou- Bransyn Hopkins, Mrs. Potts- Annymae Cluxton, Chip- Chloe Wesley, Lumiere- Hayden Crum, Cogsworth- Evan Day, Babette- Grace Robertson, Madame- Darby Mills, Enchantress/Rug- Tori Lloyd;
Narrators- Carrigan Smith and Luke Sumpter, Silly Girls- Brilee Brown, Darby Mills, and  Katie Lewis, Maurice- Carter Vogler, Monsieur D’Arque- Remington Beckham, Teacher Assistant- Vanessa Trotter, Stage Assistant-Jaida Rollins;
Village People- Rylee Barr, Elizabeth Gerth, Ben Carrington, Gracie Pollitt, MaRhea Unger, Carter Vogler, Madison Newman, Chelsey Kingsland, Cassidi Newman, Abby Doss, Gracie Culberson, Dalls Wilkinson, and Chris Steed; Wolves- Dallas Wilkinson, Chris Steed, Ben Carrington, Remington Beckham; Salt- Aubrey Sturgill, Pepper- Kendall Young, Cupcakes- Kylee Bergquist and Lilli Cooper;
Lights- Chelsie Jones and Trinity Ewing.
The Director was Dana Johnson and the Assistant Director was Darma Johnson.  The evening also included performances by the PES Third and Fourth Grade Choir and the Peebles High School Band.
