Peebles seniors Jessica Sowards and Camron Gordley both received AP All-Ohio honors for their 2016-17 seasons.

The final postseason awards for the 2016-17 basketball season in the state of Ohio were recently released as the Associated Press named it All-Ohio Teams.  Again, the Southern Hills Athletic Conference was well represented with 14 players and one coach earning All-Ohio recognition.
In Division III girls, Eastern Brown head coach Kevin Pickerill, who led his Lady Warriors to the State Final Four, was named the AP All-Ohio Div. III Coach of the Year.  Eastern Brown junior Allison Day was named to the Division III Second Team, with Lynchburg sophomore Peyton Scott placed on the Third Team.
Honorable Mention in Division III Girls went to Eastern Brown’s Alexa Pennington, North Adams’ Lakyn Hupp and Avery Harper, Lynchburg’s McKayla Binkley, and Peebles’ Jessica Sowards.
In Division IV Girls, Fairfield’s Grace Shope earned Special Mention honors.
In Division III boys, Lynchburg junior Eric McLaughlin was named to the All-Ohio Third Team, with teammate Joe Giordano earning Honorable mention.
The highest honor accorded an Adams County athlete went to Peebles senior Camron Gordley, who was named to the Second Team in Division IV Boys.  Gordley’s Indian teammate Tanner Arey received Honorable Mention recognition, as did Fairfield’s Jesse Current, and Manchester senior Kaulen Cox.
