By virtue of their 43-32 win over Peebles last Friday night, the North Adams Lady Devils are the 2016 McDonald’s Classic varsity girls champions for the third season in a row. North Adams’ Lakyn Hupp was named the Classic Most Valuable Player. The Peebles Indians are the 2016 boys varsity champions of the McDonald’s Classic, held last week at Peebles High School. The Indians took the title for the fourth consecutive year with a thrilling, edge of your seat 82-76 double overtime victory over the North Adams Green Devils in the Dec. 30 championship game. Peebles junior Tanner Arey scored 36 points in the championship battle and for his efforts, was named the Classic Most Valuable Player. Many congratulations go out to McDonald’s and the Gallowitz family and the Peebles administtration and Athletic Boosters for making the 2016 Classic another huge success.
