Stephen C Foster

Stephen Clifford Foster, 74 years of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday Dec. 6, 2016 at the Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Center in Seaman.

He was born in Winchester on Feb. 10, 1942, the son of the late Clifford and Esther (McCormick) Foster. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Stephanie Joyce Foster and sister, Donna (Foster) Neu.

Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon Gaffin-Foster; one sister, Katy Foster of Georgetown; three sons, Joseph Foster of Harlingen, Texas, Douglas (Amanda) Foster of Milford and Dale Foster of Cincinnati; and one daughter, Susan (Larry) Purdy of Mt.Orab; as well as two step-sons, Chad (Tonya) Shorten of Mt. Orab, and Stan Gaffin of Winchester, his 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren were his great joy in life. He leaves behind a host of dear family and friends.

Steve was a Vietnam veteran serving in the United States Army from 1964-1966.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9, 2016 at the Seaman First Baptist Church with Brother Boyd Lacy officiating. Interment will follow at the Sardinia Cemetery with Military Graveside services.

Friends and family may call at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of service.

Lewis-Sullivan Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Steve will always be remembered for his love of life, his infectious laughter, his ornery smile, and his uncanny ability to remember every joke he had ever heard. He loved riding his bike and golfing as well as spending time with his family and friends. He will be sorely missed by the many lives he has touched.
