Joshua Don Grooms, 20, of Lynx, died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016 in Berea, Ky. He was born Oct. 20, 1995 in Georgetown. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Hollie Grooms, and grandfather, Stanley Foster Berry.
He is survived by his parents, Jeremy Don and Sherri Lynn (Berry) Grooms of Lynx; two sisters, Amber Elizabeth Grooms and fiancé Shane Edmisten of Seaman, and Kristen Lynn Grooms and companion Nick Hoskins of Lynx; paternal grandfather, Donald Grooms, Jr. of Lynx; maternal grandmother, Joyce (Howell) Berry of Manchester; one nephew, Keaton Steven Edmisten; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was involved with the Adams County Summer Recreation Program for two years. He was a Program Manager at CELTS Berea Tutoring at Berea College.
He was a 2014 Graduate and Co-Salutatorian at West Union High School. He was a Junior at Berea College in Berea, Ky. He was a member of the East Liberty Church in Lynx.
The visitation was Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016 from 4 until 7 p.m. at West Union High School. The funeral service was Monday at 1 p.m. at the East Liberty Church in Lynx with Pastor Jason Hayslip officiating. The interment was at the East Liberty Cemetery in Lynx.
