Charles Eugene Hayslip, age 69 of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016 at the Kettering Medical Center. He was born June 27, 1947 in West Union, the son of the late John W. and Emma F. Ames Hayslip.
Mr. Hayslip had retired from Airborne – DHL logistics department. He was presently working as a delivery agent for SMYTH Auto Parts. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Patterson Moore Hayslip whom he had married on July 1, 1977 in Phoenix, Ariz.; one son, Brian (Dorthea) Hayslip of Wilmington; one daughter, Christie (Rob Miller) Hayslip of West Union; one step-daughter, Tina (Gerry Stewart) Moore of Wilmington; daughter-in-law, Joy Matthews Ward of Hamilton; 12 grandchildren and  12 great grandchildren; two sisters, Rita (Richard) Davis of Winchester and  Brenda (John) Shope of Louden; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Travis Miller; three stepsons, Darrell Moore, Dwight Moore, and Steve Lucas; two sisters, Joyce Hayslip and  Barbara Chandler; and one brother, John Hayslip.
A memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 15 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the High Top Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, The Highland County Humane Society or to the American Heart Association.
