Walter Wesley Huffman, 85 years of Rarden, passed away on Wednesday July 6, 2016 at the Southern Ohio Medical Center.

He was born in Peebles on April 23, 1931, the son of the late John and Ocie Mae (Yankee) Huffman. Besides his parents he was also preceded by six sisters, Mary Ruth Stanford, Betty Ward, Edna Penix, Anna Grace Scott, Ellen Ore Huffman and Mable Turley, two brothers, Robert and Richard Huffman, step-son, Dennis Smith and step-daughter, Nancy Obryant.

Walter served in the United Sates Army Air Corp during the Korean War.

Walter is survived by his wife, Joann (Smith) Huffman; daughter Creshanna (John) Williams of Wheelersburg; brother Bill (Delores) Huffman of Dayton; sister, Helen White of Xenia; six grandchildren, Chelsea Workman, Chase Workman, Katie Williams, Alex Williams, Trish (Roger) Smith and Dusty Smith; and three great grandchildren, Eric Perdue, Braxton Smith and Dylan Reno.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Harmon Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Adams County Honor Guard.

Friends may call from noon until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
