Dick Ryan, 80 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Monday July 4, 2016 at the UC Medical Center.

He was born in Highland County on Jan. 9, 1936, the son of the late Charles and Ocie (Spence) Ryan. Besides his parents, he is also preceded in death by his first wife, Joann Smith on May 19, 2011 and sister, Mary Hooper.

Dick retired as a Park Manager for the Ohio Historical Society, was a member of the Sinking Spring Community Church, NRA and the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association.

Dick is survived by his wife, Betty (Stewart) Ryan, whom were married on July 11, 2002, one son, Mark Ryan of Hillsboro; one step son Tom Amburgery of Hillsboro; four daughters Cindy (Craig) Wilson of Peebles, Connie (Mark) Green of Cincinnati, Carolyn (Danny) Pertuset of Peebles and Cheryl (Matt) Greene of Peebles; one brother Gary Ryan of Hillsboro; two sisters, Opal Stephens and Betty Puckett both of Peebles; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Services will be on Saturday July 9, 2016 at the Sinking Spring Community Church at noon.

Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. up until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sinking Spring Community Church.
