The Ohio High School Athletic Association and the Southeast District Athletic Board hosted their annual Scholar-Athlete Banquet on June 23 at the Ponderosa restaurant in Jackson.  It was a special night for three local student athletes as the trio of Sean Frost from Manchester, Morgan Johnson from Manchester, and Jade Spriggs from North Adams were all recipients of OHSAA Southeast District Scholarships.
Twenty five deserving student athletes received scholarships at the banquet.  Besides the three from Adams County, they included Taylor Perry (Fairland), Lydia Beardsley (Waterford), Jordan Prall (Waverly), Michaela Criner (Fairfield Union), Abigail Waugh (Jackson), Sue-Yeon Ryu (Athens), Madison Snyder (Hillsboro), Cassidy Bosch (Logan), Madison Nadler (Wellston), Lynsey Booker (St. Joseph Central), Andrew Wolford (Valley), Wesley Stephens (Chesapeake), Mackenzie Conlon (Hillsboro), Mason Harris (Minford), Preston Schultz (Logan Elm), Jordan Howard (Wheelersburg), Thomas Green (Fairfield Union), Nathan Kudlapur (Logan), Riley Evans (Miami Trace), Richard Henderson (Waverly), Kent Dunn (Southeastern), and Mason Pilkey (Warren).
