Betty E Shoemaker

Betty E Shoemaker, 71 years of Flemingsburg Ky., passed away Tuesday June 21, 2016 at the St Joseph Hospital Hospice Care Center in Lexington, Ky.

She was born in Peebles on Sept. 29, 1944, the daughter of Earl and Rebecca (Houchen) Shoemaker. Besides her father she was also preceded in death by her husband Lowell Shoemaker, a brother Rick Shoemaker, and a sister Peggy Du Pree.

Mary was a member of the Church of God International and was also a active member of both the Kentucky Colonial Society and the NRA.

Mary is survived by her mother Becky Shoemaker of Peebles; three sons Lonnie (Donna), David and Mark Shoemaker of Flemingsburg Ky.; two step sons, Kenneth (Darlene) and Forrest (Linda) Shoemaker both of Peebles; a daughter, Kay (Martin) Conley of Flemingsburg Ky.; two brothers, Harry and Danny Shoemaker of Peebles; three sisters, Ruth Ann Newman of Peebles, Glenna Cochran of Waverly and Janet Planck; as well as several nieces and nephews, seventeen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home on Friday June 24, 2016 at 1 p.m.

Larry Carmichael and James Pollitt will officiate with burial to follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call up till time of service at the funeral home.
