Four scholarships were awarded to Adams County students this year. The Scholarship Committee met on May 12 at the Adams County Regional Medical Center to interview 10 applicants. The following scholarships were awarded:

The Earl and Helen Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund is designed to recognize Adams County students and encourage them to return to Adams County to work in a health related career. The following students were awarded a $750 scholarship:

Donna Brodt
Donna Brodt

• Donna Rose Brodt is a 2016 graduate of West Union High School and the Ohio Valley Career and Technical Center. Ms. Brodt will be pursuing a career in Nursing at the Shawnee State University.

 

 

 

Kayden Johnson
Kayden Johnson

• Kayden Renee Johnson is a 2014 graduate of North Adams High School and is currently pursuing a career in Nursing at the Shawnee State University.
 

 

 

The David E. Pixley Memorial Scholarship is awarded to an Adams County graduate interested in any health related field. The following student was awarded a $650 scholarship:

Jade Spriggs
Jade Spriggs

• Emily Jade Spriggs is a 2016 graduate of North Adams High School. Ms. Spriggs will be pursuing a degree in Occupational Therapy at the Shawnee State University.

 

 

 

The Phyllis Mosier Nursing Scholarship is awarded to a current year graduate of West Union High School pursuing a degree and accepted in an accredited Registered Nursing program. The following student was awarded a $750 scholarship:

John David Whitley
John David Whitley

• John David Whitley is a 2016 graduate of West Union High School. Mr. Whitley will be pursuing a degree in Nursing at Wright State University.
