WUES hosts first Dragon Run

It was a wet, chilly morning that greeted the runners and walkers gathered at the West Union High School/Elementary on the morning of May 14 for the first-ever Dragon Run 5K Run/Walk. Organized by WUES administrator Karl Boerger, the event drew 35 runners and walkers to tackle a path created through a partnership between the Adams County Ohio Valley School District and the Adams County Health and Wellness Coalition.

The following is a list of all the runners and walkers who participated in the event: Chastyn Darnell, Steve Wolfe, Randy Lewis, Kelly Boerger, Zach Shoemaker, Amy Copas, Jaycee Baldwin, Karly Boerger, Kody Patrick, Alexa Rowe, Courtney Campbell, Madison Taylor, Elayna Kingsolver, Gerald Campbell, Brooklyn Baker, Jennifer Caldwell, Daulton Lacy, Hunter Grant, Wyatt Patrick, Cadeance Mowen, Katie Hunter, Emily Long, Sharon McAdams, Melissa Blythe, Kaitlyn Kingsolver, Susan Lee, Tina Thornberry, Teslyn McClanahan, Ty McClanahan, Rachel Meyer, Tallie McClanahan, Danyel McClanahan, Nina Shoemaker, Donnie shoemaker, and Tina Hoffer.

Winners by age category for males were, 10 and Under: First- Zach Shoemaker, Second- Hunter Grant, and Third- Wyatt Patrick; 11-15: First- Daulton Lacy; 16-19: First- Kody Patrick; 20-19- First-Gerald Campbell; 40-49- First- Steve Wolfe; 60 plus- First-Randy Lewis.

Winners by age category for females were, 10 and Under: First-Elayna Kingsolver, Second- Brooklyn Baker, and Third- Cadeance Mowen; 11-15: First- Jaycee Baldwin, Second- Alexa Rowe, and Third- Madison Taylor; 16-19: First-Karly Boerger and Second- Kaitlyn Kingsolver; 20-29: First- Courtney Campbell; 30-39: First- Amy Copas and Second- Melissa Blythe. the top overall female runner was Kelly Boerger.
