Judy GroomsJudith F. “Judy” Rodenbarger Saubert Grooms, 66, of Plainfield, died Saturday, Apr 16, 2016, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born April 11, 1950 in Lafayette, to the late Eugene Thomas and E. Elizabeth Byrne Rodenbarger. Her first marriage was to Ralph E. Saubert in 1968, and he preceded her in death in Sept 1971. She then married Steven D. Grooms in Delphi on March 16, 1973, and he survives.

She was a 1968 graduate of Harrison High School inWest Lafayette. She was an ER Tech at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis for 15 years, and worked at Meijer in Avon for a short time. She attended the Hazelwood Christian Church. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed flower gardening. She dearly loved her family, and the many gatherings and things they did together.

Survivors include husband Steven D. Grooms of Plainfield; daughter Angela Belcher of Clayton; son Chase M. Grooms of Plainfield; sisters Mary Helen Killian and Virginia and John Riley of Delphi; brothers William “Bill” and Judy Rodenbarger of Delphi and Kenny and Mary Rodenbarger of Lafayette; grandchildren Brandon and Matthew Grooms and Austin Belcher; great granddaughter Mila Grooms. She was preceded in death by a daughter Candy, son Cody, brother Jim, niece Denise and brother in law David.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 20 at 2 p.m. at the IOOF Memorial Gardens in Pittsburg. Rev. Todd Ladd will be officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.

Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi, is in charge of arrangements.
