Mary Iiames

Mary Katherine Iiames, age 68 of Peebles, passed away Friday, April 1, 2016 at her residence. She was born July 1, 1947 in Dayton, the daughter of the late Victor Francis and Eva Le (Blose) Strack.

Mary was a member of the Grace Fellowship Church of Peebles. She and her husband, David, were group home parents for eight years and foster parents to over 200 children. Mary loved taking care of others, and enjoyed spending time in the Word, as well as time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, David Iiames, whom she married on Aug. 7, 1968; five children, Angelique Iiames of Chillicothe, Rachel Iiames of Wilmington, Rebecca Smith of Hillsboro, Anastasia Iiames of Peebles, and Leigh Ann (Bob) Vymislicky of Beavercreek; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; a sister, Sherry (Rick) Brademeyer of Piney Flats, Tennessee and a mother-in-law, Betty Iiames of Albuquerque, New Mexico and sister-in-law, Debbie (Glenn) Blackwell of Dayton, Ohio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Victoria Bumgarner and her father-in-law, James Iiames.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will take place following visitation at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Turner & Son Funeral Home. Chaplin Jason Coriell will be officiating. Burial will follow services in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
