The West Union Junior High School held their annual spelling bee in January. This year, the first place title went to eighth grader, Linda Lynch. She won the bee with the word “thespian.”

Seventh graders ruled the rest of the top five places in the following order: Anna Olderham, second place; Brooklyn Steard, third place; Briley Thomas, fourth place; and Sidney Shipp in fifth place.

All of these students are now eligible to compete in the District Spelling Bee later in the school year.
